Group: Freedom to Heal
As I have written before, I believe in the group process and the possibilities of growth far beyond that of talk therapy (which, obviously, I also believe in). We have begun two new experiential groups this month: Freedom to Be and Freedom to Be II, our continuing alumni group for graduates of Freedom to Be.
Our goal with all groups is to guide clients as they gain a better understanding of themselves, heal pain, and create a pathway to live a more authentic life using the techniques of experiential therapy and psychodrama. Not only do members benefit from the revelation that they are not alone, they receive the opportunity to see their challenges in a live picture—think of a live nativity scene.
It is a privilege for me to stand alongside brave group members as they have epiphanies through our work in group and am amazed by how much we all learn from one another.
In June, I lead my first group at Onsite where I have attended trainings and workshops since 2004. It was a dream come true for me to witness—as a group guide—the life-changing magic that happens with a weeklong experiential therapy and psychodrama at Onsite.
I continue with my training in psychodrama and am happy that my wife, Debi, who co-facilitates with me in my office, continues her training as well.
We will begin new groups January 7th and 10th and are excited to co-host an intensive weekend on healing grief and loss, with a special guest from Florida, January 11th & 12th. All groups will be limited to 6-8 participants so be sure to let me know ASAP if you’re interested.
